Golang Job: Engineering Manager - Customer and Data

I have partnered with one of the largest retailers in the UK who are currently going through a huge digital transformation and looking for an Engineering Manager (Software Engineer Lead) to join their Customer and Data team.

The client has invested in the latest technologies such as AWS and Snowflake and you will be working with data spanning across all their brands offering a unique opportunity to be involved in some of the largest data projects in the current market.

As Engineering Manager (Software Engineer Lead), you'll use your engineering expertise to lead a multi skilled engineering team to help shape a world class engineering function enabling the delivery of solutions to create value, drive efficiency and increase performance for the business. You'll have end-to-end ownership of products, owning the entire stack, including Service Management.

Key skills for the Engineering Manager (Software Engineer Lead):

• You'll be an engineer with a passion for leading and coaching teams of engineers
• Someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and has hands on experience of the required languages, tools, and infrastructure
• You'll have substantial experience leading engineering professionals in a DevOps environment or high-tech company
• Record of developing and delivering large scale, distributed or complex scale platforms
• Advanced working knowledge of one of the following coding languages/frameworks such as Javascript, React.JS, Swift/iOS, Android, Kotlin, Java, Springboot, Golang and open to learning new languages
• Ability to manage Capex and Opex lines in the P&L
